Barré 2010, Bienvenue 2011

Salut!

As with all new years, the topic of conversation eventually turns to resolutions and plans.

Exactly a year ago I wrote the following:

   A new year is here, woohoo and confetti

   Though 2011 would mean much more to me ;)

   But while I wait I'll enjoy 2010

   And may each day be carpe diem-ed

   The year will be put to much planning

   Researching places and cartograph-ing

   Learning from Pirate maritime terminology

   And how to navigate the seas effortlessly

   Sure Parrot's got her elevens and tiny wings

   But it's always nice to learn new things

   No expectations though that it'll all be easy

   Poseidon's temperamental, he'll throw some rough seas

   But that's life isn't it

   We'll take it as it comes

   And if you're a parrot you write about it

   In the form of a poem

A year later I sit at this screen in reflection. Geddit? Coz the screen reflects? *lame*

Anyway … 

   2010 had its ups and downs

   As seas often do, waving high and low

   There were moments that made this Parrot frown

   But also some where happy tales came to follow

   It was the year Parrot rediscovered her love for writing

   And with the writing came the graphite sketching

   All the map-making and researching places

   Charting a path that will lead her to beaches 

   But it was also the year of losing a Pirate

   Parrot's muse that kept writing a favorite

   So came the second part of her resolution

   Trying new things, finding new ways of expression

   Which is how the youtube videos came to be

   Posting them under the name DocumentOuiOui

   Spreading wings to explore this new creativity found

   Also time to get the rest of the plans de colle off the ground

   The places, the paths that once were charted meticulously

   Will be put in motion when the stars are ready

   They are after all the same one that led me this far

   Onto the path of a long-lost forever bestie, Jaguar

   And so it will be for twenty eleven

   To keep making those dreams and things happen

   Surely if a Jap man can bike with 2 dollars only

   We can work out a random world randonnée

Hoche la tete

Fate hasn't let us down yet
